About Stepney Green Court

Stepney Green Court is situated in the heart of the city, close to Docklands.  It overlooks a beautiful green in a quiet residential street.  There are several schools nearby and Stepney Green tube station is within a short walking distance.  Whitechapel Market and the Royal London Hospital are approximately a 10 minute walk away.

The estate is made mainly of one and two bedroom flats but there are also two converted 4 bedroom maisonettes.  There are 120 flats in total of which, 19 belong to a sheltered scheme for older people.

There are residential caretakers on the estate and a non-residential Estate Manager.

The estate was built in 1896 and is the oldest surviving scheme of all of IDS’ properties.  It has been comprehensively refurbished to high standards.  The flats are lifted and have secure door entry systems.  The estate also benefits from closed circuit security cameras.

Sheltered Scheme at Stepney Green

The Sheltered Scheme at Stepney Green was opened in the 1980’s after a major refurbishment of the original building, which dates from 1896. It is a Category 2 Sheltered Scheme with a resident Scheme Manager and a 24 hour emergency alarm system.  Applicants must be a minimum of 60 years of age.

It is a small sheltered schemes with 1 two bedroom and 18 one bedroom flats.  There is also a communal lounge, garden, kitchen and laundry.
 
Located close to the City and Docklands it is situated in a quiet residential street.  It is close to Stepney Green tube station and is served by a number of bus routes.  Whitechapel Market and the London Hospital are approximately one mile away.
