Koban Court, Hendon NW4.
In May 2007, IDS acquired 11 flats in a new development – Koban Court on the corner of Greyhound Hill and Watford Way. The eight rented and three key worker shared ownership flats form part of a larger development of 61 homes built by a private developer for outright sale.
Osbaldeston
Road, Stoke Newington
Six 4-bedroom brick-built houses, including a shared home
for people with learning disabilities, designed to meet the
needs of Jewish orthodox families. The properties have been
built on derelict land adjoining the Broad Common Estate.
The project required partnership arrangements with the housing
and social services departments of LB Hackney and specialist
agencies.
Beehive Lane, Redbridge
11 sheltered flats for Jewish elderly, on land leased from the United Synagogue.
Wilmer Place, Hackney
Five 3-bedroom shared ownership houses for sale on a part-rent, part-buy basis that were developed in partnership with Notting Hill Housing Trust. This was our first shared ownership project and future opportunities are in the pipeline.
Vartry Road, Hackney
Five 3- and 4-bedroom houses constructed from pre-fabricated steel frames which take five hours to assemble on-site. The innovative construction techniques result in a considerable reduction in noise levels and heat loss. Heating bills are likely to be exceptionally low.
Rowhill Road, Hackney
A 7-bedroom, 12-person house, again using a steel frame on the outskirts of a local authority estate. The house has been tailor-made to a specific family’s needs.
Queen Mary Gate, South Woodford. A large development by Telford Homes. The principal hosuing association is Circle Anglia. IDS and John Grooms HA are working as specialist housing providers. IDS will own 12 properties at the scheme including four for shared ownership.
Genas Close, Barkingside. Once again working with Circle Anglia to provide six flats and houses for rent and shared ownership. This forms part of a larger development by Persimmon Homes.
On the site of the former Lathams Timber yard close to the River Lee in Clapton IDS is working with Southern Housing Group to provide nine large rented homes for orthodox Jewish families. This is part of the Altius scheme being built by George Wimpey.
At Leaside Road, Clapton we are working in partnership with Metropolitan Housing Trust. On completion IDS will own 15 flats for rent designed to meet the needs of orthodox Jewish families. Metropolitan will retain the shared ownership housing which also forms part of this scheme.
Other schemes still in the planning stage include the Odeon in Gants Hill, Five Oaks Lane in Hainult and the former West Hackney Synagogue site.
IDS is active in the housing association liaison groups of many boroughs. The Chief Executive is the Treasurer of Hackney housing association group. The Housing Director chairs the Tower Hamlets housing management group.
