Redecoration of external and internal common parts

 

We are redecorating all or part of the followings estates this year:

Otto Schiff House

 

Where possible we try to consult with tenants regarding colour choices.

 

Major Works

 

IDS has again been successful in securing matched funding from the Housing Corporation for the following projects:

 

 

 

Evelyn Court

 

New kitchens / bathrooms & rewires to 38 flats:

The works include converting some flats on the upper floors from 3 to 2 bedrooms or 2 to 1 bedrooms and the enlargement of some ground floor units. 

 

These works also include improved insulation to end-of-block flats and the installation of ventilation systems with heat recovery.

 

Due to the scale and nature of the works IDS is carrying them out on empty flats and we are operating a decanting programme so that existing tenants may move into the newly refurbished flats.  If you are a tenant at Evelyn Court and are interested in registering for this scheme please contact Catherine Gibson, Tenant Liaison Officer on 020 7923 9309

 

Window Replacement

We will be replacing windows to 120 flats in the current year after successfully securing additional funding during the last financial year which enabled us to replace windows to an extra 20 ground floor flats.  This work is being carried out in tandem with the redecoration works due to the cost of scaffolding.

 

Rewiring

We will be rewiring 30 flats in the current financial year to bring the electrical installations up to modern day standards.

Boiler Replacements

We will be replacing 12 of the older boilers as phase 1 of a rolling programme of replacement.

Kitchen Replacements

In line with our commitment to meet the Decent Homes Standard, 15 Kitchens are being replaced during the current year

 

Otto Schiff House

 

Structural Repairs

IDS will be act as Project Managers for Otto Schiff HA to carry out structural repairs to the brickwork of both buildings which have been subject to some movement.  A reinforced “beam” will be installed in an attempt to limit future movement.  These repairs will be followed by redecorations which will also encompass repairs to internal finishes that have been damaged as a result of the movement.
