As of 12 September 2007,
IDS have become a Client Associate of the Electrical Contractors
Association (ECA). This has been established through partnership
with the National Housing Federation. The ECA provide online advice
regarding the latest regulations and safety standards for electrical
installations. IDS intend to directly employ a full time electrian
in the near future.

We
have been informed by 'Achilles' who monitor and award Registered
Social Landlords their Client Charter Award Status that IDS has
been awarded with a 'Green light', which is the top rating for this
award. This is for the period 28 October 2006 - 27 October 2007.
The Client Charter
covers areas of contract management / development, safety, consultation,
efficiency, equal opportunities, sustainability etc.

Hackney
Council has decided to change the way in which it organises and
pays for housing related support offered to elderly people in the
Borough. These plans will mean considerable changes to the way support
and housing management services are provided at three of IDS’
sheltered
housing
schemes at Ajex House in Stamford Hill, Clifford Lawton House on
Whiston Road, Haggeston and Navarino Mansions, Dalston Lane, Hackney

Housing Association
IDS based its annual staff conference at the Emirates Stadium, home
of Arsenal Football Club.
As
well as team games challenging knowledge of the 10 years of the
Blair government combined with Arsenal football trivia, the conference
considered the challenges of the efficiency agenda and heard the
results of the recent IDS tenants’ survey.

chose the occasion of its AGM to celebrate the transfer of engagements
from Ajex Housing Association and the purchase of Ajex House.

First
family development in Barnet for IDS
IDS,
the Jewish specialist housing association, is involved with the
development of a stylish complex of 61 apartments in Hendon NW4.
Most of the properties are for private sale, however, in line with
planning policy there will be an element of affordable housing.
IDS will have eight two-bedroom apartments available for rent to
families on low incomes and three will be made available to key
workers on shared ownership terms.

The London Borough Of Hackney have expanded
their cash incentive
scheme to include Housing
Association tenants.
IDS tenants who are willing
to move to smaller properties can now receive the same priority,
grants and rehousing options as council tenants.

We are pleased to report that this years
survey revealed that 97.3% of those who responded rated our
overall service as either satisfactory or good.

A new complaints policy
and procedure was approved at the Housing Services Committee on
10 November 2005. The new policy is more proactive and enables tenants
to complain via telephone, email, fax or in person on their estate
or at head office.

achieved national recognition this week when its Youth Engagement
Project, “Makin’ It Happen”, won the prestigious
iNbiz Race and Diversity Award by a judging panel
including 60 housing association residents from across the country.
