We believe that, by working in partnership with other organisations, often far more can be achieved together than any of us would be able to deliver working alone.

IDS has many examples of effective partnership working:
Working with others to provide Jewish housing
As an experienced provider of culturally-specific housing, we are delighted to be able to work with others providing an element of housing for Jewish people on larger, mixed developments.
In 1997 we began to manage Ajex housing association’s housing providing sheltered accommodation for Jewish ex-servicemen and women and their dependents. After several years, the volunteers who ran Ajex HA felt it was time to transfer ownership of the property to IDS and this was completed in April 2006.
In another example of our willingness to work with the changing needs of partner organisations, IDS has worked with Otto Schiff Housing Association since 2003 enabling them to complete the transformation of their organisation. Today we lease their remaining sheltered housing development in Hampstead, providing housing management, support, welfare and maintenance services. There were complex issues to resolve in this project and the successful outcome demonstrates our flexibility and commitment to work creatively to sustain Jewish housing schemes.
Working with other housing associations
We are currently working on schemes with Circle Anglia, East Thames Housing Group, Metropolitan Housing Partnership, Notting Hill Housing Trust and Southern Housing Group. Generally IDS is selected as a specialist Jewish housing provider but also as a locally based housing association in Hackney. Sometimes IDS is a minority ethnic specialist on a larger scheme, at other times, all the property is transferred to our ownership after completion.
New Build HomeBuy
New Build HomeBuy, formerly known as shared ownership, is a part rent, part buy scheme. IDS has developed a small but growing portfolio of shared ownership flats and houses since 2002.
At Wilmer Place, Hackney we built five 3-bedroom shared ownership houses in partnership with Notting Hill Housing Trust who developed and marketed the scheme on our behalf. Today most of the original Wilmer Place owners have either sold or “staircased” to full ownership.
Since that initial project, Zone Agents have been appointed by the Housing Corporation to market all shared ownership schemes within a specified area. The Zone Agent for all our housing schemes is Housing Options (weblink).
Other IDS shared ownership schemes include Koban Court in Hendon where the purchasers are all key workers such as teachers, NHS workers and police officers.
In the pipeline are shared ownership schemes at Queen Mary Gate, South Woodford and Genas Close, Barkingside.
Working with other housing associations
We provide management and maintenance services for Ajex Housing Association. We provide maintenance services for Agudas Israel Housing Association. We work in partnership with Bangla Housing Association who allocate, manage and maintain some of our leased properties.
We have provided CCTV in the North Hackney area in conjunction with Clapton Housing Community Trust and the Southern Housing Group.
