Asset Management and Investment in Our Homes

At IDS, we are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes that support our residents and communities.

As part of this commitment, we have been developing a long-term Asset Management Plan to help us invest in our homes and neighbourhoods for the future. Building on our 140-year history of providing affordable housing, this plan will help ensure our homes continue to meet the needs of current and future residents.

Investing in our homes

Our Asset Management Plan sets out a long-term programme of investment across our housing stock over the next 30 years.

This includes planned improvements such as:

  • Roof replacements
  • New windows and doors
  • Kitchen renewals
  • Bathroom renewals
  • Building safety improvements
  • Energy efficiency upgrades where appropriate

We have already started delivering some of these improvements and are committed to continuing investment across our estates.

Planning for the future

Like many housing organisations, we need to carefully plan how we fund major improvements to our homes over the long term.

As we develop our plans, we are considering a range of options that will allow us to continue investing in our properties while meeting our legal responsibilities and maintaining high standards for residents.

This is a long-term strategy and our plans will continue to evolve as we review our homes, understand future investment needs and respond to changing requirements.
