Selling your home
Depending on whether you are a Leaseholder or Shared Owner, and how you purchased your property will determine whether we must be given the opportunity to purchase your home from you so you must contact us if you intend to sell your home. Here’s what else you need to know:
- You will need to make the purchaser aware of the conditions in your lease, and anything else that you have been made aware of during your ownership
- Keep all your paperwork safe (this includes consultation papers, service charge invoices, etc) as you may need to refer back to them later on
- At the point of sale, your solicitor will contact us requesting an ‘information pack’ about the property, which they may give to the purchaser’s solicitors
- Under your lease, your solicitor must let us have a copy of the legal documents transferring the lease within 28 days of sale. Until we are notified in writing, demands for service charges and ground rent will still be sent to you after the sale.
