Anti-social behaviour & hate crime
Keeping our communities safe – our commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour and hate crime. We’re committed to ensuring our neighbourhoods are safe and welcoming for everyone. Here’s how we deal with anti-social behaviour (ASB) and hate crimes to help create a safe and peaceful environment for all our residents.
What is anti-social behaviour (ASB)?
ASB can be anything that causes distress, nuisance, or annoyance to others, especially in and around their homes. Examples include persistent noise, harassment, or threatening behaviour that can negatively impact the quality of life for residents and disrupt the peace within our neighbourhoods.
However, some everyday activities are not considered ASB, such as:
Hate crime
If you have been intimidated, harassed, victimised or abused because of who you are or what you believe in, then you are a victim of hate crime. You can report it to the Police and directly to us.
Criminal activity
All criminal activity should be reported to the police. The police can be contacted on 101 or in an emergency, 999. Safer Neighbourhood Teams – Metropolitan Police community-based teams will be able to assist you in cases of criminal anti-social behaviour.
