We have been working with the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) since April 2024 and the final inspection judgement is now published. IDS was inspected under the new inspection framework, and we are pleased that the Regulator has judged IDS to be fully compliant with the new standards and graded the organisation at G2, V2, and C2. The Regulatory Notice which was issued in June 2022 has been removed. These ratings reflect our achievements to date in delivering change, and the firm plans we have put in place to ensure further improvement.

Importantly, the RSH acknowledged that the initiatives we implemented over the past two years are now making a real difference to our tenants, and this was reflected in our resident feedback and satisfaction surveys. A key initiative has been the trialing of an innovative new repairs service on our largest estate, and our next big step is to implement the service across all our homes in January 2025.

We are pleased that the Regulator has identified some important strengths such as the robust data supporting our business plan, and the fact that residents have seen significant improvements, especially in the reduction of overdue repairs. Importantly, the RSH also noted good oversight of financial risk and a significant improvement in our systems, processes and capabilities. We are grateful for the detailed feedback from the Regulator which gives us a clear focus for our improvement programme.

Jonathan Gregory, Chief Executive, IDS said, “The inspection was a comprehensive process, the outcomes of which give us an invaluable opportunity to further strengthen our operations and leadership to ensure that we meet the highest standards of governance and financial service delivery.”

He concluded, “For us, compliance is fantastic, but we know we can go further in some areas. We aim to give the best customer experience possible within our resources, and that will be our overriding ambition for the coming years, supported by a newly strengthened Board and corporate strategic plan.”
