Michael Brodtman – Chair

After 20 years operating at Board level for some of the world’s largest real estate businesses – most recently as Chairman of UK Advisory for CBRE – Michael Brodtman, steps up to lead the society at a key time in its development.

At one time responsible for all UK service lines of CBRE Advisory UK, Michael brings a wealth of property experience to the IDS Board. Michael is a Non Executive Director of two FTSE 250 real estate companies; Target Healthcare REIT, which owns a national portfolio of prime modern care homes, and Grainger plc, the UK’s largest listed residential landlord. Michael is also a Trustee of Jewish Care, the leading health and social care charity for the Jewish Community in London and the South East.

Michael arrives at a time of major shake-ups across the housing sector, with stronger regulatory and monitoring frameworks in place in social housing, and key focus on safety and meaningful engagement with residents.

Michael notes that “The recent period has been momentous for the whole of the social housing sector, and there is still much to do. It’s a very exciting time to be leading IDS.”
